A Delight, Don’tcha Know.

Everyone I Kissed Since You Got Famous by Mae Marvel

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

What a delightful book! This is my first exposure to the author(s) but I enjoyed it so much, I’ll certainly be looking at other titles.

Katie and Wil are both great characters and I loved learning about them separately and together. The moms were an added bonus. And as a Wisconsin woman, I absolutely loved that most of the book takes place in Green Bay.

I suppose the quickness of the love/sex portion of the story could be an issue for some but it wasn’t for me. These two were never far from the other’s thoughts and sometimes reconnecting is just that fast. It didn’t feel unbelievable to me – not the speed at which they connected or how they decided to move forward, together.

There’s a lot going on with this book, relationships between several people, moving forward after trauma, new professional avenues, domestic abuse (not anything in detail so it shouldn’t be a triggering issue), etc. So much stuff. And the time-frame covered in real-time is only a week or two. So there’s a lot. But it was all enjoyable and I never felt like I wanted to skip ahead. I wanted to savor it all.

The narrator did a very good job. Her pacing and inflections were fantastic. My only issue was that, because the same voice was used for both MCs, it did get confusing during many of the dialogues to figure out which character was saying what. I could definitely see myself reading it again but I’d go for the ebook instead.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for introducing me to a new author (pair of authors)!
